The anime tells about the journey of Kino, a young adventurer who rides a motorcycle named Hermes. Both are exploring different places with different cultures and people, they usually only spend three days and two nights for each location they visit, without exception. He has the principle that three days is enough to learn everything about a place, while taking time to explore new areas. Kino said while in The Land of Visible Pain that this principle may be a lie, which in detail is “If I stay any longer, then I’m afraid it will stay.”
